Saturday, December 11th will be a day to remember in
Bloomfield as we we celebrate a "Star
Spangled Christmas."
Bloomfield Main Street will be holding our annual
event with a special patriotic theme. Community First Bank, Davis
County Savings Bank and Commercial Federal Bank will sponsor a day full
of activities planned by Main Street's Promotion, Image and Stars and
Stripes Committees.
Activities begin at 10 a.m. and continue through
9:30 p.m. The day will begin with SANTA
PICTURES taken at the Main Street Office; FREE
MOVIE at 2 p.m. at the Iowa Threatre for children to allow
parents time to shop in Bloomfield. The movie will be "Benji: Off
the Leash." The movie is sponsored by Wagler Funeral Home,
Spilman Auto Parts, Piper Auto Salvage and U.S. True Care
Pharmacy.
A LIVING WINDOWS
display will be held from 6-8 p.m., everyone is encouraged to go the
Main Street office to vote for your favorite display. The annual
tour of lights will begin at 5:30 p.m. and run until 9 p.m. aboard
"Molly the Trolley". Tours will leave and return to the
Main Street office every half hour. SANTA
will again make an appearance on the square from 4-6 p.m. at his little
workshop. Photo Creations will have a photo opportunity with Santa
and his sleigh. Special treat bags will be given to the children.
LIGHT UP THE STARS
and LIGHT UP THE SQUARE will also be
available again this year. Luminaries will be for sale and then
placed in the courtyard during the evenings events. Anyone
purchasing a luminary is encouraged to write the named of a loved one
who has bee affected by cancer. Proceeds fro the sale of the
luminaries will go to help victims of cancer. For more information

This year Main Street is introducing a new event
into Christmas, a "Star Spangled
Christmas". We are recognizing the soldiers of Davis
County from each area of the armed forces. December 11th from 7-9
p.m. at the Mutchler Community Center we invite our community to come
together for a program and open house to salute our heroes past and
present serving our country. Christmas trees at the Main Street
office and the Community Center will be decked with Christmas stars
featuring pictures of many of our local loved ones serving our country
at this time.
