Tell us a little bit of history about your business:
Local folks may remember that our business was not always a general store, but rather Dutch Country Supply. In 2012, then-employee Levi Good (just 21 years old) and his wife, Erica, purchased the business from his employer. It wasn’t long after that Good changed the name, adjusted the wares sold in-store, and founded Dutch Country General Store as we know it today. Dutch Country General Store has become a popular tourist stop, home to nostalgic items that bring back memories of simpler times. Currently, we have two locations: just west of Bloomfield and downtown Hannibal, MO. Our third store is set to open Spring 2023 in Winterset, IA! Our online shopping experience reaches folks nation-wide, and we make sure to add new products regularly.
What are the services or products your business provides?
Visitors delight at the unique, nostalgic, and handmade product lines which include old-fashioned toys, traditional Amish wood furniture, bulk foods, baked items, candy, personal care, jar goods, and more. While in-store, don’t forget to enjoy FREE ice cream, popcorn and coffee every day!
What is your favorite thing about having a business in our community?
We love seeing our neighbors stop in to shop, enjoy a free ice cream cone and visit for awhile. It never gets old!
What is one thing people may not know about you or your business?
Our deli staff makes masterpieces – order a sandwich, and you will NOT be disappointed!
